Czech Law in Times Past

A complete newcomer among the publishing giants, the publishing house ORAC, has kicked off its activities with an extremely interesting debut - a book from the pen of the Rector of Charles University, Prof. JUDr. Karel Maly, DrSc., entitled Czech Law in Times Past.
The customs, legal regulations and norms, legal codes, and even the ordeals (divine judgements), by which our ancestors were governed, are described here, not only from a legal point of view, but also historically. For this reason, the book will pique the curiosity not only of lawyers, but of everybody who is interested in history or social relations in the past.
The book is supplemented by a fascinating pictorial and textual appendix, which will make it a welcome documentary resource for libraries and research institutions as well.

One of the interesting appendices of Prof. Maly's book: Sezima, the Scribe of the Court Records (Desky dvorske). Early 15th Century, Desky dvorske 15 (Central State Archive, Prague)
